WELCOME TO THE CHAMBER!

My name is Joe Harms, owner of Mississippi Pub and River Heights Marina. I have been an active chamber member for over 10 years and a board member for seven. My Chamber membership has provided unparalleled opportunities to connect with peers, current and prospective clients, and take advantage of the many resources and opportunities that the Chamber has to offer. I am honored to serve as the 2023 Chair of the River Heights Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

Now, some exciting news: Established in 1903, the River Heights Chamber will celebrate 120 years of service to the business community in 2023- making us one of the oldest chambers of commerce in the state of Minnesota. I want to thank each and everyone one of you for your continued support and participation in the Chamber. Your involvement has been integral to our success and growth over the years, and we are grateful for your contributions.

While we will spend time recognizing the chamber’s accomplishments over the past 120 years, we will look forward – providing a venue, a network and the advocacy that accelerates your ability to grow your business.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting plans in the works. The 2023 Southeast Metro Living Guide will be one of the largest and most widely distributed community publications in our history.  We also have our signature events:

  • Annual Meeting, January 26th
  • Golf Classic, June 5th and
  • NEW this year- our Business Awards Event, September 21st

Additionally, we have our monthly networking events: CoffeeNet, Let’s Do Lunch (2nd Wednesday of every month) and Business After Hours. Our Local Issues meetings in Inver Grove Heights (second Thursdays) and South St. Paul (fourth Wednesdays) connect members with elected officials, city staff, our school leaders and chamber peers. The monthly Business Professionals Roundtable is open to all members to share ideas, group problem solve and network. The Chamber will continue its partnership with our schools and local agencies to address workforce challenges. Our Chamber Coalition of Dakota County (CCDC) is planning a series of educational seminars and networking events to support the growth and development of our member businesses.

I look forward to working together to strategically position the Chamber as a convener of information, a vehicle for engagement, and a regional leader in business advocacy. I am grateful for your support and am excited to build on our successes of the past 120 years, continuing to serve and represent the interests of our members.

With gratitude,

Joe Harms
