River Heights Chamber Public Policy

The River Heights Chamber of Commerce advocates for issues that impact local business. Our staff and leadership work to build relationships with our elected officials and keep you connected!  Two important aspects of membership are advocating and representation.

An integral part of the River Heights Chamber’s activity is ensuring that the views of the business community are articulated to elected officials at all levels of government.  At the local level, we are the only business organization that truly represents and supports private sector interests. We are your voice at the city, county, state and federal level.

We do this through:

  • Local Legislative Events
  • Business Day at the Capitol
  • City Local Issues Meetings
  • Congressional Visit to Washington, D.C.
  • Representation at City Council Meetings
  • Acting as a Business Community Watchdog
  • Access to Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Advocacy Events

How to Get Involved

There are several ways members can participate in the public policy efforts of the Chamber.

  • Inver Grove Heights Local Issues (Second Thursday of the Month)
  • South St. Paul Local Issues (Fourth Wednesday of the Month)
  • Session Priorities Dinner
  • Business Day at the Capitol
  • Congressional Visit to Washington, D.C.

Elected Officials

Our Local Issues committees study issues, then take positions we believe will benefit businesses and the broader community.

Your officials want to hear from you. We encourage you to contact your local legislators on issues that concern you.

Southeast Metro Business Political Action Committee

The Southeast Metro Business Political Action Committee (SEMB PAC) provides opportunities for businesses interested in shaping Minnesota’s political future. The SEMB PAC can endorse candidates for local, state constitutional, state legislative and county offices whose platforms support private enterprise and work and improve economic conditions in Dakota County and the State of Minnesota.
